The underside of the roof is sound insulted with double pinex batt filled panels, over building malthoid and corrugated iron. The external roof is insulated with 100 mm thick sound insulting foam covered by a plastic membrane. The electrically operated dock way roller door has a 1 tonne “sound lock” sliding door mounted 3 metres behind it. All other external doors have secondary “sound lock” doors providing minimal external noise entry.
The building has a double industrial thickness concrete slab floor and is capable of withstanding very heavy floor loads.
The building is equipped with 3 phase power (3 outlets) and has numerous single phase power points.
Background lighting for set-building/decorating etc. Is provided by 20 double fluorescent fittings.
The studio and adjoining facilities have gas heating for maximum comfort and efficiency.
The cyclorama is located at the northern end of the studio and runs the width of the building (13 metres) in a “U” shape and 6 metres high. It is constructed from 12 mm custom wood secured to a robust metal frame.
